Karachi (Web Desk):Social media users have started showing concerns over the long awaited fake degree case of Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Shazia Atta Marri, Sindh Post has learnt.
After initial investigations by Sindh Post, it seems that the workers of Pakistan Muslim League functional are trying to make it a big issue on social media. They demand that the courts must release the long awaited verdict of the fake degree case against Shazia Marri in which Mr. Atta Mohammad the voter of NA 235 had accused her for using his daughter’s Degree in the election nomination forms.
Facebook user Farhan Alam posted on his wall, an appeal to chief justice Sindh for release of the verdict.
An other social media user Manzoor Chaniho also posted with a tag of “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied”
He also questioned the honorable high court about the delay in issuing verdict and said, if Shazia is innocent than the petition must be discharged as soon as possible.
On the other hand the local workers of PPP have responded to the campaign and called it a tactic used by opponents as Shazia has delivered well in the constituency.
Shah Jahan Marri, A local PPP worker called it an act of frustration by the opponents.
The Sindh High court reserved the decision in the case on February 18, 2016 in which Atta Muhammad Chandio, the petitioner and a voter of NA-235 constituency in Sanghar, accused Shazia Marri of submitting somebody else’s degree for contesting the elections. He had submitted in the petition that PPP MNA Shazia Jannat Marri had produced degree of another Shazia, daughter of Atta Muhammad, before Election Commission of Pakistan.
“That particular degree was issued to Shazia, daughter of Atta Muhammad who completed her graduation from Raunaq Islam College Lyari, affiliated with University of Karachi. Whereas Shazia Marri never attended that college,” the petitioner added.
The petitioner had submitted that Shazia Marri not only made the offence but also cheated the voters and she is liable to be disqualified. The petitioner requested the court to disqualify her as member of the assembly
for submitting the fake degree.
