KARACHI : ( Staff Report) Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday Issued notices to Hyderabad Press Club and other respondents in a constitutional petition for a date to be fixed in second week after vacation.
A division bench of SHC granted the petition filed by Mohammed Jaffar Memon and Misri Khan against fake memberships including the membership of those who do not belong to the journalistic profession and are employees of other government departments, misappropriation of funds and other issues in Hyderabad Press Club and Malir Press Club.
Petitioner Mohammed Jaffar Memon in his petition informed the court that he attempted to appear before the governing body of Hyderabad Press Club for the consideration of applications and requests but those were not addressed despite the directions of the court.
Upon that the court directed to issue notices to the respondents in the petition including Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary to Information and Archives Department Sindh, Secretary Industries Sindh, the President and General Secretary of Hyderabad Press Club, the President and General Secretary of Malir Press Club, the Managing Director of Hyderabad Development Authority, the Managing Director of Malir Development Authority Karachi and the Director General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi.
