Former Sindh Information Minister Arrested From Islamabad Airport

Islamabad: Former Sindh information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon was arrested from Islamabad Airport on his return to Pakistan on Sunday morning.

Mr. Memon was accompanied by Provincial ministers Mukesh Chawla, Fayaz Butt, Imdad Pitafi and Taimur Talpur.

Memon, who is facing a multibillion-rupee corruption case in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), was arrested by officials of intelligence agencies from the runway after his flight from Dubai landed at the airport.

On Feb 21, the Sindh High Court issued intimation notices to NAB’s special prosecutor and the deputy attorney general on a miscellaneous application moved by Memon for extension of a protective bail in corruption cases.
