Islamabad: Pakistan’s federal minister for interior Choudhary Nisar Ali Khan defended his meetings with the members of proscribed organizations.He said it is unfair to link everything with Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat ( former Sipah e Shahaba) Chief Maulana Ahmed Ludhyanvi.He was responding in context of recent criticism by Pakistan Peoples Party Senators.

Did PPP not meet the members of proscribed groups during their tenure? Nisar Questioned. He said people with links to terrorist organizations were eliminated, jailed or had fled abroad, but members of groups proscribed on sectarian grounds “who have no cases against them” still reside in the country

He further explained about his statement in Senate in which he opinioned that Sectarian differences and violence in this regard can not be considered terrorism. Nisar asked whether it was “a crime” to suggest that separate laws should be formed to deal with groups proscribed on sectarian basis to remedy the “confusion being created”.

Responding to a question about the disappearances of 5 civil society activists he said, efforts are being made for their safe recovery.
