Karachi: Newly appointed Governor Sindh Justice (R) Saeed Ul Zaman Siddiqi Passed away. He was taken to a private hospital after having breathing problem and chest pain but could not survive, Governor house spokesman told local media.
Justice Siddiqi, 78 took charge of the Governor Sindh after replacing Ishrat ul Ibad on November 11, 2016. In his two months tenure he hardly spent less than a week in his office, rest of the time he was on the bed rest for various health issues.
Saeed Ul Zaman Siddiqi had also served as 15th chief Justice of Supreme court And also served as the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court.
He was amongst the defenders of democracy after the coup of General Parvez Musharaf and denied to take oath under provisional constitutional order (PCO).
Justice Siddiqi will be laid to rest in Karachi.
