New York: President-elect Donald Trump, in a statement reported by American media, explained he will dissolve his charitable Trump foundation before being sworn in as President of the United States.
“The foundation has done enormous good works over the years in contributing millions of dollars to countless worthy groups, including supporting veterans, law enforcement officers and children. However, to avoid even the appearance of any conflict with my role as President, I have decided to continue to pursue my strong interest in philanthropy in other ways,” said Donald Trump.
The foundation is under investigation by the New York State Attorney General’s office.
As per its 2015 tax returns, the foundation owns assets worth 1.115 million US dollars.
