New York: Hollywood actress and Star Wars Princes Leia, Carrie Fisher is in intensive care after a cardiac attack in flight from London on Friday evening.

She was traveling from London to Los Angeles in United Airlines flight where she had a heart attack in flight.

The emergency was called at the airline gate and she was rushed to hospital, her brother Todd Fisher said.

Todd Fisher told reporters that his 60 years old sister is recieving excellent care at Los Angeles hospital. He calrified his earlier statement about her stable condition. He said  “It’s not fair to say ‘stable’. I am not saying she is fine, or not fine,” he told Reuters by telephone. “She is in the ICU.” But in a subsequent interview he said many details about her condition or what caused the medical emergency are unknown.

Emergency services did not confirm the actor’s condition. Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles fire department, said: “At 12.11pm the Los Angeles fire department responded to LAX airport for a patient in cardiac arrest.

“Firefighters aggressively provided advanced medical life support and transported the patient to a local area hospital.”

A large gathering of reporters was camped outside the Ronald Reagan UCLA medical centre in Santa Monica where TMZ and the Los Angeles Times reported she had been taken.
